Washington PCT 2015: Day 26

Day 26 was one of relaxation. We ate a lot of food in the morning. We also hung out with Max and Alli, our friends from Snoqualmie pass. We had stayed in the hotel together the previous night, bought snacks and played board games!
Having slept well and filled our demanding bellies, Laura and I decided we would go to the Dinsmores for the night and have a zero-day. Mr. Dinsmore came up to Skykomish for lunch at the nearby diner with a bunch of other hikers and we got a ride back to their house.

Chilling with Max and Alli
We got spots in the bunkhouse, went shopping at a supermarket, had a great barbeque, watched a movie, went swimming in the river and had a generally awesome day! We also met lots of hikers! There were probably 12 people at the barbeque. I honestly don't know how the Dinsmores do it because that are a lot of people to let into your home on a daily basis. Most of those people are stinky and many of them can be a bit thoughtless and young. I really wonder how they managed after we left and the "pack" of hundreds through-hikers arrived there with the trail closed up north.

We slept pretty well, although it is harder to sleep when there is electric light everywhere... also when college-age hikers are hanging out (some getting rather drunk) everywhere and talking till very late.
