Washington PCT 2015: Day 35

Not excited about leaving
We were sad to leave our amazing relaxing oasis on day 35. We waited as long as we dared, eating a nice breakfast and lunch. Then, they bussed us back out to the trail head and we started on our way again.

Looking south toward Agnes Creek
Laura, looking badass
It was a pretty easy half-day hike although it was a little warm. We were surrounded by towering peaks of the norther cascades but there were also pretty long sections of forest.

Lots of berry bushes... and bears
We eventually stopped at a campsite where two forks of the Stehekin river met.  Here, we met a nice older hiker who lived in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. She showed us her cool food bag made of kevlar. You just tie it to a tree and a bear can't get into it because the fabric is too strong. The down side: The bear could likely smash your food inside the bag... also, it has not been approved in some parks like Yosemite.

Approaching the river
Our campsite
We took it easy and rested with the intention of hiking a full day on day 36. We had hiked about 8 miles and were excited to be approaching Canada!

Pretty water at North Fork
